The countdown to the 47th Carolina BalloonFest in Statesville is on! We’re three weeks away from this year’s spectacle in the sky and tons of fun on the ground too.
The 47th Carolina BalloonFest
You won’t want to miss a minute of this three-day festival! The high-flying fun begins on Friday, Oct. 14th, at 3 p.m. and continues through Sunday, Oct. 16th.
There will be a Balloon Glow on both Friday and Saturday evening plus three mass ascensions and two flyovers throughout the festival.
But that’s not all. The 47th Carolina BalloonFest also includes sanctioned hot air balloon competitions, hot air balloon flights, tethered balloon rides and a skydiving exhibition.
You can even book a hot air balloon ride for yourself!
Then there’s all the other fun stuff too. For instance, test your agility and more on the Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course. Meet and greet with hot air balloon pilots. Meander through the Artisan Village & Market Place.
Let the kids burn some energy at the Kids Zone with inflatables, bungee jumping and a walk-in balloon. Catch some entertainment at the Main Stage throughout the weekend too.
Grab a bite to eat and a cold beverage at Eat Street & Beer Tent, or enjoy a glass of wine at the Wine & Beer Garden.
Don’t forget to register for the Balloon Chasers 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run scheduled early Sunday morning, Oct. 16th. Registration includes a one-day pass to the 47th Carolina BalloonFest plus on-site parking.

Carolina BalloonFest happens thanks to National Balloon Rally Charities, Inc., a local nonprofit. Each year, the festival donates a large portion of event proceeds to multiple local charities and other community organizations.
According to the website, the Carolina BalloonFest has donated $787,000 to the community in recent years.
