A trip to the zoo means fun year-round, but especially during the holidays. There are so many sights to see, from wildlife to Christmas light shows. If you and your family are planning a holiday getaway, try a visit to the Zootastic Park of Lake Norman.
A Zootastic Experience
The Zootastic Park of Lake Norman lies to the south of Statesville, nestled a little off of Interstate 77. This park showcases all kinds of magnificent wildlife, from lively kangaroos to behemoth big cats—and everything in between. Also featuring animal feeding sessions and a wagon ride, this Lake Norman wildlife showcase is a full walk-around zoo.
The Zootastic Park of Lake Norman also offers a plethora of safari encounters where you can get up and close to your favorites in the animal kingdom. The park provides onsite tours as well as off-site animal education opportunities. All this and we haven’t even mentioned Zootastic Park’s Christmas season offerings yet!
Christmas Wonderland of Lights
Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a tour through the zoo. Drive through the reindeer forest, roam the park’s Christmas Wonderland of Lights, and enjoy all this light show has to offer. Christmas music will be featured in the background as you move through the zoo’s light spectacular.
In addition to the wonderland, other festivities will include big cat and giraffe feeding, carousel and train rides, a smorgasbord of s’mores, and more!
The Zootastic Park of Lake Norman launched the Christmas Wonderland of Lights on Nov. 22 and 23. The wonderland runs every night from now until Jan. 4, 2020.
Times: Sunday–Thursday, 6 to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 6 to 10 p.m.
